The Culinary Federation committed to ensuring the privacy and security of all information collected from our members and other parties.

The information we collect

When you lodge an inquiry with or submit an application or registration to the Culinary Federation, we need to collect information about you in order to enable us to service your membership, deliver our professional services, or complete any business transaction. This information includes, but is, not limited to, details such as your name, your contact details, your requirements, and relevant company, business information, and copies of the required documents. We may not be able to provide products or services if you do not supply the information requested.

When you purchase something from our store, as part of the buying and selling process, we collect the personal information you give us such as your name, address, and email address. Email marketing (if applicable): With your permission, we may send you emails about our store, new products, and other updates.

The Culinary Federation Website

Like most websites, there is certain information we automatically track when you use the Culinary Federation website, including the URL that you came from, the browser you are using, and your IP address. This data is utilized to improve the services of the Culinary Federation and does not include any personally identifying information. We will not retain any such information unless you submit that information for membership registration or other transactional purposes.

If you use the secured or "members only" section of our website "cookies" may be transferred to your computer. Cookies store information about your use of the site which may be used by us to identify you and otherwise enable the efficient use of the website. This policy does not apply to other websites that you access by using a link from our website. The content and privacy policies of other websites are the responsibilities of their owners.

How we use the information

The information that you provide will be collected and saved by us is used to assess your requirements and to enable the Culinary Federation to properly run the organization and to enable the relevant service or information to be provided to you. It may also be used for other purposes that you would reasonably expect, for example, for research, staff training, policy development, planning, or for supply to third-party service providers such as mailing houses that we use to send you surface post material.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to third parties for other marketing purposes. If at any point in time you would like your saved data to be deleted from our system, please contact us and we will arrange to have your records deleted from our database. However, certain third-party service providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies in respect to the information we are required to provide to them for your purchase-related transactions.

For these providers, we recommend that you read their privacy policies so you can understand the manner in which your personal information will be handled by these providers. As a user of the Culinary Federation's services, you may occasionally receive email or other updates from us about new information, briefings or products or services being offered by the Culinary Federation or any of its related companies or business partners, along with newsletters and any noteworthy changes to the website. You may always unsubscribe and opt-out from receiving these messages.

Unless otherwise prohibited by law or our contractual obligations, we may disclose personal information if required to do so by law, court order, or as requested by a governmental or law enforcement authority, or in the good faith belief that disclosure is otherwise necessary or advisable. Such situations may include: to perform, maintain or enforce contracts with our users or suppliers; to protect the rights or properties of the Culinary Federation, our business affiliates, our users, or others; or when we have reason to believe that disclosing the information is necessary to identify, contact, or bring legal action against someone who may be causing, or who may be threatening to cause, interference with or damage to our rights or properties, whether intentionally or otherwise; or when anyone else could be harmed by such activities.

Opting out of promotional information

The Culinary Federation works hard to provide our members and clients with the best possible service at all times. From time to time, we will send our members newsletters, updates, and other useful information. We hope that you will find these items informative and useful. However, should you choose to not receive them in the future, you will have the ability to unsubscribe from the mail database by following the unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of each email.

Our commitment to data security

All user details captured by the Culinary Federation are stored securely at all times and will never be provided to any unauthorized third parties.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time, so please review it frequently. Changes and clarifications will take effect immediately upon their posting on the website. If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you here that it has been updated, so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we use and/or disclose it.

If our store is acquired or merged with another company, your information may be transferred to the new owners so that we may continue to sell products to you.

Website Privacy Information

Safety

We do our best to keep the Culinary Federation safe service, but we cannot guarantee it. We need your help to keep Culinary Federation safe, which includes the following commitments by you:

  • You will not post unauthorized commercial communications on the Culinary Federation website.
  • You will not collect users' content or information, or otherwise access the Culinary Federation, using automated means (such as harvesting bots, robots, spiders, or scrapers) without our prior permission.
  • You will not engage in unlawful multi-level marketing, such as a pyramid scheme, on the Culinary Federation website.
  • You will not upload viruses or other malicious code.
  • You will not solicit login information or access an account belonging to someone else.
  • You will not bully, intimidate, or harass any user.
  • You will not post content that: is hate speech, threatening, or pornographic; incites violence or contains nudity or graphic or gratuitous violence.
  • You will not do anything that could disable, overburden, or impair the proper working or appearance of Culinary Federation, such as a denial of service attack or interference with page rendering or other Culinary Federation functionality
  • You will not facilitate or encourage any violations of this Statement or our policies.

We are not liable for any harm or damages related to the purchase or use of goods, services, resources, content, or any other transactions made in connection with any third-party websites. Complaints, claims, concerns, or questions regarding third-party products should be directed to the third-party.

Registration and Account Security

Culinary Federation users provide their real names and information, and we need your help to keep it that way. Here are some commitments you make to us relating to registering and maintaining the security of your account:

  • You will not provide any false personal information on the Culinary Federation, or create an account for anyone other than yourself without permission.
  • If we disable your account, you will not create another one without our permission. You will have to email your branch manager and request to reactivate
    your account again. Additional fees may be required in order to reactivate the existing account.
  • You will not use the Culinary Federation website if you are under the age of 13. For the Foodie membership, you are required to input valid personal information. You must follow this policy when signing up as a Foodie membership form.
  • You will keep your contact information accurate and up-to-date.
  • You will not share your password (or in the case of developers, your secret key), let anyone else access your account, or do anything else that might jeopardize the security of your account.

The Culinary Federation is not responsible for any personal account information that could jeopardize your own account.

You will not transfer your account to anyone without first getting our written permission.

Protecting Other People's Rights

We respect other people's rights and expect you to do the same while using our Service (Culinary Federation's website).

You will not post content or take any action on the Culinary Federation that infringes or violates someone else's rights or otherwise violates the law.

We can remove any content or information you post on the Culinary Federation website if we believe that it violates this Statement or our Policies.

If you repeatedly infringe other people's intellectual property rights, we will disable your account when appropriate.

If you collect information from users, you will: obtain their consent, make it clear you (and not the Culinary Federation) are the one collecting their information, and post a Privacy Policy explaining what information you collect and how you will use it.

You will not post anyone's identification documents or sensitive financial information on the Culinary Federation website.

Membership/Partnership

Membership Term duration is one calendar year. Expiration Date is defined as the date on which the Culinary Federation membership is valid through. Upon expiration, member benefits will be stopped, and access to Culinary Federation content will be limited.

Renewal is defined as the process of continuing membership for a subsequent one-year term.

About Membership

Members have access to certain content. The content given will vary on each member’s package. However, if you do not purchase a membership or subscription, your access to the Culinary Federation’s content and services are limited.

You can review the various Culinary Federation benefits packages within the public website. Culinary Federation reserves the right to modify the content, type and availability of any member benefit at any time. All Culinary Federation membership packages are valid for a membership term of one calendar year.

Only one person may use the email address and password associated with a membership account.

Processing and Payment

The Culinary Federation accepts payment via all major (but is not limited to) credit cards, PayPal, and debit. We reserve the right to reject any order or purchase at any time.

Pricing

When you purchase a membership, the price will be made clear during the order process. You agree to pay the price that is stated at the time of your order.

All prices are in Canadian Dollar currency unless otherwise stated.

The Culinary Federation reserves the right to change membership dues prices and fees at any time.

Billing

Billing of One-Year Membership Terms

Membership is billed at the initiation of the membership process. Once we charge or debit your payment method, your membership is considered active for one calendar year from your join date. No automated billing will take place unless you have opted into the auto-renew process for membership.

The Culinary Federation will not be able to refund if you wish to no longer be a member of the Culinary Federation within the year of activation.

Should a credit card be declined, the member will be notified by email or phone by a Culinary Federation representative.

Members can log in to their member profile at culinaryfederation.ca/ to review enrollment status and to make any changes to their membership profile on the Edit Profile page.

Unpaid Charges

If a credit card expires or a payment method is otherwise invalid, the member will be notified by email or phone by a Culinary Federation representative. In the event of a declined card, the transaction will be canceled.

CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY

The Culinary Federation will not be able to refund if you wish to no longer be a member of the Culinary Federation within the year of activation.

Direct Message policy

We provide certain features that allow you to communicate more privately. For example, you can use Direct Messages to have private conversations with other Culinary Federation users. When you privately communicate with others through our Services, such as by sending and receiving Direct Messages, we will store and process your communications, and information related to them. When you use features like Direct Messages to communicate privately, please remember that recipients may copy, store, and re-share the contents of your communications. Keep in mind the Culinary Federation’s community policies, these guidelines must be followed in regards to the interaction between users using Direct Messaging. Any violation of the guidelines may lead to consequences such as suspending the abuser's account.
